- The Foreigners Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs deals with matters relating to foreign nationals, visa and immigration, and citizenship.
- It is responsible for formulation and implementation of visa policy and regulation of the entry, stay, registration, and exit of foreigners in India.
- The Division also handles matters relating to citizenship, Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI), and issues of illegal migration and deportation, in accordance with the law and Government policy.
The Division deals with all matters relating to visa, immigration, citizenship, overseas citizenship of India, acceptance of foreign contribution and hospitality.
