This Division deals with the policy, personnel, operational (including deployment) and financial matters relating to all the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) including BSF Air Wing. It also deals with the matters relating to the welfare of the serving and retired CAPF personnel and the deployments in UN Peace Keeping Missions.
This Division deals with the matters relating to the modernisation of state police forces, provisioning of various items for modernisation of Central Armed Police Forces, police communication, police reforms, administration of Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005, etc.
The Division deals with all legislative and constitutional matters relating to Union territories except UT of Jammu and Kashmir and UT of Ladakh which is dealt by Department of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh Affairs, including the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
The 'Women Safety Division' was established on May 28, 2018, to enhance measures for the safety of women across the country and to foster a heightened sense of security through the prompt and effective administration of justice.
